Building Custom Pools Across Arizona Since 1996

When you hire Caribbean Pools, you’re hiring a team that has built pools in every corner of Maricopa and Pinal Counties. We understand the differences between building in a tight Tempe backyard, a hillside Paradise Valley lot, a hard-dig North Phoenix site, and an expansive Queen Creek acreage property. Local knowledge isn’t a marketing claim for us — it’s 30 years of pulling permits in dozens of Arizona jurisdictions, navigating caliche, clay, and rock, and designing for the specific demands of an Arizona desert climate.

We price every pool from a detailed line-item sheet — no packages, no guessing. You see exactly what you’re paying for: shell, interior finish, decking, water features, equipment, and permit fees, all broken out individually. No hidden charges, no upgrade surprises mid-build.

Why Choose Caribbean Pools

ROC-Licensed, Fully Permitted Every Time

Caribbean Pools is licensed by the Arizona Registrar of Contractors (ROC #325789 B-04). We pull every permit ourselves — pool, fencing, electrical, and gas where applicable. We handle all city and county inspector coordination in every municipality we build in, so you don’t have to navigate different jurisdiction requirements on your own. Your pool is built legally, by the book, every time.

Line-Item Pricing — Total Transparency

We don’t sell packages. Every pool is priced from a detailed quote with hundreds of individual line items — pool shell, interior finish, decking, water features, equipment, automation, and permits. You pay for exactly what you want. Revisions are free until you’re satisfied. We pass permit fees through at cost — no markup, ever.

One Consistent Team From Design to Completion

From your first design meeting to the day we commission your equipment and hand you an operation walkthrough, you work with the same Caribbean Pools crew. Your salesperson stays involved throughout. Your project manager stays reachable. No handoffs, no surprises late in the build.

Hayward Equipment — Exclusively

We install Hayward equipment on every pool we build. No mix-and-match, no brand substitutions. Hayward’s TriStar pumps, C-Series filters, OmniLogic smart automation, and HeatPro heat pumps are the standard on every Caribbean Pools build. A consistent equipment platform means our service team knows every system, and your equipment support is never a guessing game.

Areas We Serve Across Arizona

Caribbean Pools builds inground pools throughout Maricopa and Pinal Counties. Here’s where we work:

East Valley

The East Valley is our home territory. We build pools in Gilbert, Chandler, Mesa, Tempe, Queen Creek, and Ahwatukee. These cities offer some of the Valley’s newest master-planned communities alongside established neighborhoods with mature lots and unique site conditions. East Valley jurisdictions move quickly on permits — most run 2–4 weeks — which means your build can get underway faster.

North & Central Arizona (Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley)

We build throughout Phoenix, Scottsdale, and Paradise Valley regularly. These areas include everything from Arcadia and the Biltmore corridor to Desert Ridge, North Scottsdale, and hillside Paradise Valley lots. Caliche, rock, and sloped terrain are common — we handle all of it. We also build in Cave Creek and Carefree, where rural lot sizes give homeowners room for resort-style designs.

West Valley

We serve Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, and Avondale in the West Valley. West Valley communities have seen tremendous growth over the past decade, and newer neighborhoods there often feature larger lot sizes that are ideal for pools with extended decking, outdoor kitchens, and fire features. Build timelines in West Valley cities are typically comparable to East Valley municipalities.

Our 8-Step Pool Building Process

1. Free Design Consultation

We meet at your home, walk your yard, and talk through your goals and budget. No pressure, no commitment. You’ll leave with a clear sense of what’s possible and an honest cost framework. Most consultations take 60–90 minutes.

2. Design + Quote

We produce a custom design and a detailed line-item quote with every option priced individually. You see exactly what you’re paying for. Revisions are free until you’re satisfied.

3. Contract + Permit Submittal

Once you sign, we collect a deposit and immediately submit for permits. Timelines vary by city — East Valley cities typically run 2–4 weeks, Phoenix proper 3–4 weeks, West Valley cities are similar. We handle every application, inspector coordination, and fee — permit costs are passed through at cost, no markup.

4. Excavation + Steel

We dig the pool shell, set the rebar cage, and schedule the structural inspection. Hard-dig conditions (caliche, rock) are handled with specialized equipment — we flag these upfront if your property warrants it.

5. Shotcrete

The structural concrete shell goes in. After this point, the pool shape is fixed — your design decisions need to be finalized before this stage.

6. Plumbing, Electrical & Equipment

Pipes, conduit, equipment pad, gas lines, and everything that goes behind walls or under decking gets installed. We install Hayward equipment exclusively at this stage — TriStar pumps, C-Series filters, OmniLogic automation, and HeatPro heat pumps where specified.

7. Hardscape + Decking

Pavers, travertine, concrete — whatever you chose. Coping is set, water features get tiled, and fencing goes in if it’s in your scope. This is where your backyard really starts to take shape.

8. Interior Finish, Fill & Final Inspection

Plaster or pebble finish is applied, the pool is filled, equipment is commissioned, and water chemistry is balanced. We walk you through how everything operates. Final inspection signs off your permit — and the pool is yours.

Total timeline: typically 3–5 months from contract signing to completion. Permit timing is the biggest variable, and it differs by municipality. We’ll give you a realistic timeline estimate for your specific city during your consultation.

Hayward Equipment — Why We Choose It Exclusively

Caribbean Pools installs Hayward equipment on every pool we build — no exceptions, no brand substitutions. Here’s what that means for you:

  • Hayward TriStar Pumps — Variable-speed pumps that cut energy costs versus single-speed alternatives. Quiet, efficient, and built for Arizona’s year-round demand.
  • Hayward C-Series Filters — High-capacity cartridge filtration that keeps your water clear with less frequent backwashing than DE or sand alternatives.
  • Hayward OmniLogic Automation — Control your entire pool and spa from your phone: temperature, lights, water features, cleaning schedule, and chemical dosing. One app, full control.
  • Hayward HeatPro Heat Pumps — Arizona summers push pool temps to 90°F+. HeatPro heat-and-cool pumps let you chill water in summer and warm it in winter, extending your swim season year-round.

A consistent equipment platform means our service team knows every system inside and out. No guesswork, no compatibility issues, no third-party warranty confusion.

Pool Cost & Pricing in Arizona

Honest answer: it depends. Caribbean Pools builds custom inground pools at every price point, from straightforward starter pools to fully integrated resort-style backyards. The biggest cost drivers are pool size and shape, decking material and square footage, water features (sheer descents, scuppers, fire bowls), equipment package (heating, cooling, automation, lighting), and lot conditions (caliche, slope, access constraints).

Rather than pretending we can quote a pool from a webpage, we publish honest package pricing and customization ranges on our pricing page.

We also offer flexible financing options through pool-specialist lenders — typically 15–20 year terms at competitive rates. Or call us at (480) 503-3300 and we can give you a realistic ballpark in five minutes.

Frequently Asked Questions — Arizona Pool Building

Do you build pools all across Arizona, or just certain cities?

We build throughout Maricopa and Pinal Counties — including Gilbert, Mesa, Chandler, Tempe, Queen Creek, Ahwatukee, Phoenix, Scottsdale, Paradise Valley, Cave Creek, Carefree, Glendale, Peoria, Surprise, and Avondale. Not sure if your address is in our area? Send us your address and we’ll confirm quickly.

What’s the difference between pool construction and pool service?

Caribbean Pools specializes in new pool construction — we design and build inground pools from the ground up. We also offer ongoing pool service and maintenance through our service division. If you’re looking for a new build, that’s our core business. If you need service on an existing pool, we handle that too.

Do permits and timelines vary by city in Arizona?

Yes, significantly. East Valley cities like Gilbert and Chandler often run 2–3 weeks for pool permits. Phoenix proper typically runs 3–4 weeks. West Valley cities (Glendale, Peoria, Surprise) are in a similar range. Cave Creek and Carefree can take longer due to smaller building departments. We handle every permit in-house and will give you a realistic timeline for your specific city during your consultation.

Why should I pick a local Arizona pool builder instead of a national chain?

Local builders know Arizona’s specific build conditions — caliche hardpan, extreme heat, UV degradation, tight HOA rules, and city-specific permit processes. Caribbean Pools has been navigating all of this since 1996. We’ve built in every type of Arizona lot condition and every Maricopa County jurisdiction. A national chain doesn’t have that depth of local knowledge, and you often end up working with subcontractors rather than a consistent team.

What Hayward equipment do you install?

We install Hayward equipment exclusively on every pool we build — TriStar variable-speed pumps, C-Series cartridge filters, OmniLogic smart automation, and HeatPro heat-and-cool pumps. We don’t install Pentair, Jandy, or any other brands. A consistent equipment platform means better service support and no compatibility headaches down the road.

What warranty comes with a Caribbean Pools pool?

Our pools come with a structural warranty on the shell, along with manufacturer warranties on all Hayward equipment components. We’ll walk you through the complete warranty terms during your design consultation and again at handover. ROC licensing also provides additional consumer protections under Arizona law.

Do you offer financing?

Yes. We work with pool-specialist lenders who offer dedicated pool loans — typically 15–20 year terms at competitive rates. These are often better options than home equity lines for many homeowners. See our financing page for current partners and program details.

How long does it take to build a pool in Arizona?

Most Arizona builds run 3–5 months from contract signing to completion. The permit phase is the biggest variable — it differs by city and changes over time. Once permits are in hand, active construction typically runs 6–10 weeks depending on size, features, and lot conditions. We’ll give you a specific timeline projection for your build during your consultation.

What’s the best time of year to build a pool in Arizona?

Any time of year works — Arizona’s climate allows year-round construction. The most popular strategy is signing in fall or early winter so your pool is ready when swim season starts in March or April. But summer builds happen constantly too. If you sign today, we start pulling permits today, regardless of the season.
